Exotic leather lasts for years with a little care. Here is how to look after your pair.
Wipe the shoes with a soft dry cloth and put cedar shoe trees in straight away to hold the shape and draw out moisture.
Every month or two, use a small amount of conditioner made for exotic leather. Work it in with the scales, never against them.
Use a neutral or matching cream polish and buff with a horsehair brush. Avoid heavy wax on nubuck and ostrich.
If they get wet, blot gently, fit shoe trees and let them dry at room temperature, away from heaters.
Give each pair a day off between wears so the leather can breathe and keep its shape.
Keep the pair in its dust bags, out of direct sun, with shoe trees in. Resoling is possible thanks to the Goodyear welt.
