The atelier

How a Chicore pair is made, from the last to your door, in about four weeks.

01

The last

Every pair starts on a wooden last shaped to your size and width. We confirm both with you before anything else happens.

02

Choosing the skin

We pick the hide panel by panel, so the scales run evenly from toe to heel and both shoes match.

03

Cutting and closing

The upper is cut by hand, skived thin at the seams and stitched closed, then left to rest so the leather settles.

04

Welting

The upper is lasted and Goodyear welted, so the sole can be replaced and the pair kept for years.

05

Finishing

Colour and patina are rubbed in by hand, layer by layer, then the pair is polished and checked against your order.

06

Delivery

Pairs leave the workshop in three to four weeks and ship free, insured and tracked, anywhere in the world.
